Missing Florida golfer found drowned in pond on the course

Oldsmar, Florida - Authorities believe 74-year-old Hermilo Jazmines drowned while searching for his lost golf ball on Sunday morning.

Oldsmar emergency personnel and law enforcement officers started a widespread search of the East Lake Woodlands Country Club in Oldsmar after Hermilo Jazmines was reported missing on Sunday morning.

After searching through wooded areas, divers found Jazmines' body submerged in a pond. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

As NBC News reported, Hermilo Jazmines was golfing with a friend at East Lake Woodlands Country Club on Sunday morning.

Jazmines was last seen alive at 7:37 AM. He was walking around the green at hole number three looking for his ball. The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the course after Jazmines was reported missing.

The Sheriff's office said, "Jazmines’ golf cart was parked on the cart path and his putter was found lying on the ground near the water."

The authorities announced that an autopsy will be performed, even though officers found nothing that "appear[ed] to be suspicious" at the scene.
