Woman tragically dies after getting stuck in Florida hotel window

Grassy Key, Florida - She was known as a selfless and free-spirited soul. Now the young woman's life has come to a tragic end.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, 22-year-old Sydney Therriault didn't have her key with her when she wanted to enter her hotel room on March 18.

She decided to try to get in through the window, but then she got stuck.

She asphyxiated and died after being unable to free herself, the New York Post reported.

Sydney, a tourist from Maryland, was staying at the Pelican RV Resort & Marina in Grassy Key, Florida, Fox Baltimore reported.

Emergency responders arrived around 7:28 AM, but it was already too late. The 22-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say no foul play is suspected. Autopsy results are still pending.

"You're spirit free to travel and help people and to see the world on your own time has helped encourage me to go out and follow my own path," Sydney's friend Megan Harney wrote on Facebook.

"You will never be forgotten since you touched so many. Rest easy beautiful."
