Drunk man has crazy explanation for jumping fence into National Counterterrorism Center

McLean, Virginia – After having one too many shots of tequila, a man jumped the fence at the US National Counterterrorism Center in search of a room for the night.

Around 5 AM on March 14, Jatinder Singh was caught scaling a security fence around the US National Counterterrorism Center while extremely intoxicated.

The man claimed he was just looking for a room to sleep the heavy night off.

When first questioned, the Pottstown, Pennsylvania native told law enforcement that he wanted a place to crash, get some food, and take a hot shower, not knowing what the building was.

A CIA affidavit described Singh's state when confronted, saying he was "noticeably unsteady on his feet and exhibit[ing] slurred speech".

His drunken shenanigans somehow led him to the National Counterterrorism Center.

Despite the unlikely scenario that a hotel would have a security fence, Singh scaled and jumped it anyway. He told the New York Post, "I didn’t know that was federal property. I was just looking for help. I just see the building with the lights".

His search for a hot meal and a place to escape the elements ended Singh in handcuffs. Though his motives don't seem malicious, the man now faces trespassing charges for his drunken mistake.

Singh was released from federal custody on the same day as the arrest, and is awais his court date on May 27.
