This "physically, emotionally, and mentally taxing" event was recounted by Liz and her partner Eric in an episode of the reality TV show Sex Sent Me To The ER.

As the two exchanged some affectionate caresses one morning, Liz was blindsided by a climax of the highest order that just kept going and going.

What seemed exciting at first quickly became increasingly concerning. Liz soon realized all the physical sensations associated with a climax – the racing heart, the heavy breathing – weren't stopping.

A reenactment of the night's events shows her jumping up and down, drinking a glass of wine, and even taking allergy medication, all in a desperate but unsuccessful attempt to stop the never-ending orgasm.

Eventually, the pair decided to go to the emergency room. There, too, the doctors were at a loss.

But when they administered a tranquilizer, the orgasm suddenly stopped as if by magic, after more than three excruciating hours.

"At first I couldn't believe it," the Liz recalled, "I was afraid it was going to start again right away."

Not a one-time occurrence for Liz

Unfortunately, that wasn't to be the last time that Liz went through the sexual ordeal.

These strange climaxes returned, and with increasing regularity, forcing Liz to take medication.

"At first I would only get them after sex, but then eventually it would start to happen that I would be doing something mundane – watching TV, walking down the street – and out of the blue I would have an orgasm."

It got to the point where Liz was having up to 12 spontaneous climaxes a day, but luckily she was able to get them under control with medication.

"At one point I was only getting them every day, then only every other day, then only once a week." By the last count, Liz had her orgasms under control to the point where they only jolted her once a month.

Doctors believe Liz's symptoms were triggered by an anti-depressant she was taking at the time.
