Resident leaves note for postman after spider "holds mail hostage"

Internet - Given fear of spiders is one of the most common phobias in the world, it comes as no surprise this resident hasn't checked their mailbox in weeks!

For some time now, a little creepy-crawly has made itself at home in one person's mailbox and started "holding [their] mail hostage."

The person needed to come up with a solution as soon as possible. After all, they couldn't avoid their mail forever.

Since they couldn't get rid of the spider themselves, they had no choice but to get creative.

The Instagram account neighborsfromhell recently shared a picture of the note they addressed to the mailman making a rather unusual request.

"Dear Mr. Postman! Beholder of parcels, bringer of utility bills," the letter read.

"I write to you on this day to ask a simple task of you. Living on the right side of my mailbox is a spider, seemingly holding my mail hostage."

They asked the mailman to remove the spider "either by relocation or brutal murder."

"I would be forever in your debt. Signed, Resident," the letter concluded.

Instagram users can't stop laughing at the strange idea

To help the mailman identify the unwanted guest, the author even sketched a little creepy-crawly under the request.

While the postman may have been surprised by the note, Instagram users are praising the resident's ingenuity.

Within only one week, the post received a whopping 13,400 likes and nearly 200 comments.

"100% would do the same thing," one user wrote, while another joked: "Pay those bills online sis, or wait for him to move out."
