Bruce Willis' daughter Rumer shares heartbreaking message: "I really miss my dad"

Los Angeles, California - More than three years ago, it was revealed that Hollywood icon Bruce Willis is suffering from frontotemporal dementia. Now, his eldest daughter has spoken candidly about the painful reality of her father's illness.

On Instagram, Rumer Willis posted a video featuring several clips from carefree days gone by.

The footage shows the 38-year-old as a little girl beside her world‑famous father. In addition to the childhood snapshots, Willis also shared a more recent photo of herself holding her ailing father in her arms.

Willis accompanied the image with touching words: "I really miss my dad."

She misses another version of her father – a version that existed in the past, as she explained, offering insight into the challenging daily life with the dementia‑stricken film star.

"There are some days that are just so hard," Willis continued. "I try to prioritize being present with where he's at now. The truth is, to be strong is learning to deal with both things at the same time."

At the same time, the actor and singer announced that she had undergone a genetic test to assess her risk of developing Alzheimer's disease.

Following Bruce's diagnosis, she decided to focus more closely on her own health and to address the issue proactively.

The results showed a relatively average score – this means there is some risk, but it is not unusually high.

In early 2023, Bruce's family made the action star's dementia diagnosis public.

Since then, his loved ones have been sharing regular updates on his condition and offering a glimpse into their new daily life with Bruce.

He now lives not in his own home but in a nearby private nursing facility, where he receives round‑the‑clock care.
