Washington DC - Billionaire Elon Musk has officially stepped in to financially back Republicans in their efforts to maintain hold of Congress in the upcoming midterm elections.

On Wednesday, Musk's America super PAC disclosed a filing detailing how it spent $800,475.44 over a number of key House and Senate races in states across the US – including Alaska, Iowa, Maine, Ohio, and Texas.

Over $247,000 was spent in Texas, where embattled Attorney General Ken Paxton is running for Senate against rising Democratic star James Talarico.

Musk first began funding Republicans during the 2024 presidential race, when he spent millions of dollars and campaigned across the country to support Donald Trump.

After Trump won, Musk was tapped to head the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), but as he was leaving the temporary role, he and the president had a messy public feud.

At the time, Musk said he was planning to take a step back from using his wealth to influence politics, but in January, he appeared to confirm reporting that he was planning to "go all-in" to help Republicans in the midterms.

If Republicans lose their majority hold of Congress in November, Democrats will make it difficult for Trump to fulfill his agenda, and possibly seek to impeach him a third time.
