Halle Berry's son testifies for hours as courtroom turns "icy" in messy custody battle

Los Angeles, California – Hollywood star Halle Berry and ex‑husband Olivier Martinez are currently locked in a bitter legal battle over custody of their 13‑year‑old son, Maceo. On Monday, the teenager testified in court in Los Angeles – reportedly for a full four hours.

Martinez has accused Berry of having physically assaulted and abused her son, and this week, the exes ran into each other again in front of the Superior Court.

Berry, who has denied the allegations, initially appeared in good spirits, accompanied by her fiancé Van Hunt and her legal team, at the courthouse in Los Angeles. As Page Six reported, Martinez arrived with Maceo.

When the hearing began, the tension rose sharply. According to an eyewitness, hostile looks were exchanged between the two parties.

Later, the atmosphere in the courtroom was described as almost "icy."

When Judge Shelley Kaufman finally called the 13‑year‑old to the witness stand, everyone present was asked to leave the room so his testimony could be taken in private.

Maceo testified for four hours in total, and during a lunch break, the boy is said to have appeared relaxed. He chatted with his father before returning to the witness stand.

Notably, throughout the trial, there was no contact between Berry and her son.

Martinez's lawyer later told Page Six, "Olivier is a great, loving father. He is very caring and only wants the best for his son." How the lawsuit will play out remains uncertain for now.
