On Thursday, the 23-year-old played the first of two shows at The Schottenstein Center in Columbus.

Before her encore, Rodrigo changed into a T-shirt that read "Dr. Amy Acton for Governor," earning some major applause from the crowd.

The look also scored praise from Acton herself, who wrote via X, "Ohio loves you, @oliviarodrigo.

Rodrigo played another show on Friday, where the politician herself was in the crowd.

The Grammy winner took a moment to hand Acton flowers during a performance of stupid song and gave her a hug as the moment was displayed on screen for fans, per fan-captured footage.

Rodrigo's support comes after Acton's race made national headlines due to a controversial attack ad from Republican rival Vivek Ramaswamy, which featured Acton's estranged mother encouraging Ohioans not to vote for her daughter.

Acton and her brother were removed from their mother's home when she was 12 years old after their stepfather was indicted for raping Acton. Her mother stayed married to the stepfather, who fled the state after his indictment, until he died in 2004.

The ad received intense pushback from both sides of the aisle, and it's given Acton a boost in the polls ahead of Tuesday's election.
