Los Angeles, California - Pete Davidson has addressed Kanye West's explosive attacks against him during the comedian's romance with Kim Kardashian.
Back in 2022, The King of Staten Island actor was viciously harassed by the controversial rapper, but now, Pete has a different stance on the matter.
"What people don't understand about that dude – and I'm not one-one-millionth as talented or influential or powerful as that dude, but I have dealt with a fraction of what he's had to deal with public-wise – is that'll do it," the 32-year-old told Variety this week.
He continued, "He's also lost a parent and has mental stuff, and I don't know how he deals with it or who he has around him," noting that Ye may have "a lot of people who want to be his friend."
Pete explained, "I've had that. When people are so far up your a** and constantly pushing and provoking you and not showing you love, you want to burn it all," adding, "There's zero way he really feels like that."
Pete Davidson shows empathy to Ye years after vicious harassment
After the Saturday Night Live alum split from Kim in August 2022, he reportedly sought therapy to deal with the vile remarks and threats from the Can't Tell Me Nothing artist.
Pete admitted during the interview that being targeted by Ye "tripped him out" due to his own mental health struggles.
The comedian said, "It's like he was saying, 'Kill yourself.' And he did push me."
Pete also jokingly acknowledged that he "cleared the path" for The Kardashians star to get back into the dating pool by taking on her ex's wrath, adding, "I like to think I got that one out of the way for her because whoever that guy was going to be was gonna get it."
