New York, New York - A forecast of heavy rain and strong winds from a powerful nor'easter has led to the cancellation of several anticipated music events on the East Coast, including Ed Sheeran's concerts in Boston and the All Things Go music festival.

New York, Boston, and Philadelphia are all expected to be battered by the incoming storm over the weekend, which is forecast to bring gusts of over 60 mph.

Ed Sheeran's Loop Tour – already grappling with the aftermath of Macklemore's controversial removal as an opener – canceled two performances set for Friday and Saturday night at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

"Due to the severe weather warnings in place in Boston and across New England throughout the weekend and following consultation with local officials, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Ed Sheeran concerts at Gillette Stadium," the pop star's tour group wrote in a statement.

Refunds will be made available to fans at the point of purchase, as the shows are not expected to be rescheduled.

In New York, the All Things Go music festival – set to feature Zara Larsson, Lola Young, Ethel Cain, and more at Forest Hills Stadium – canceled all three scheduled dates due to the storm.

The decision was made with little time to spare, as doors were set to open at 2 PM ET on Friday.

"The safety of our fans, the artists, and local crew is our top priority," the festival emphasized, adding, "We don't really know how to put into words how heartbroken we are."

The Washington DC iteration of the festival, which will feature some of the artists who were set to play in New York, is proceeding as planned this weekend at the Merriweather Post Pavilion.

Also making the decision to cancel was the Global Citizen Festival, calling off the Central Park event due to the "extreme weather forecast."

"Forecasts predict dangerous conditions and circumstances in which we cannot safely bring tens of thousands of Global Citizens, artists, crew, vendors, partners, and staff onto the Great Lawn, let alone all of the equipment required," the festival said.

Scheduled performers included Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, Lenny Kravitz, and John Legend.

Ticketholders for both All Things Go NYC and Global Citizen Festival will be offered refunds.
