And if the beginning wasn't enough to prove that nobody is safe in Derry, the last 15 minutes might be the bloodiest and most hauntingly devastating moments in TV history.

The fourth season's debut episode took a page out of an '80s horror film with its eerie tone and teenage nostalgia.

But it isn't until the final moments that viewers truly understand just how horrifying Vecna is.

Plus, Eddie Munson, played by Joseph Quinn, lets out the most bloodcurdling scream that sends shivers down spines to this day!

The Haunting of Hill House season one, The Bent-Neck Lady

The Haunting of Hill House has been dubbed one of the greatest horror series of all time – and rightfully so.

Loosely based on the 1959 novel of the same name by Shirley Jackson, the supernatural thriller follows five adult siblings and their estranged father, who are all still suffering from the paranormal experiences at Hill House.

The 10-episode show was a frightening ride from start to finish, but episode five, The Bent-Neck Lady, is a standout.

Eleanor "Nell" Crain had been haunted by the ghastly figure since childhood, yet once she found happiness in adulthood, the nightmare seemed to stop.

Nell is again tormented by the disfigured specter after tragedy strikes – and when she seeks the truth, the twist that follows will leave viewers unsettled.

The Haunting of Hill House is on Netflix.
