Nancy Guthrie case: Savannah Guthrie makes emotional plea: "We cannot move forward"

Tucson, Arizona - Today show co-host Savannah Guthrie issued another emotional plea nine months after her mother, Nancy Guthrie, vanished from her Arizona home. But the latest message stands out from the others.

Rather than begging her followers and fans to help if they can, Savannah's latest point of public outreach was more sentimental than demanding. There was no upping the ante for a cash payment to those who might have answers.

Though she did remind people that "the reward is still available," the majority of the Instagram post saw Savannah reflecting on a drawing she found by her daughter that served as a reminder that, nine months after her mom Nancy's disappearance, she still needs her mother.

The drawing in question included an umbrella and raindrops with the writing, "I know it might now seem like it but I really need my mommy."

This piece of handmade art likely hit Savannah particularly hard, seeing as it's been nine months since her mother disappeared and there have been no suspects named. The Pima County Sheriff's Department hasn't released much information publicly other than saying investigators recently traveled to Florida to meet with lab scientists "to see what more could be done to advance the case" as they continue to work to "solve" it.

In the caption of the post Savannah shared, she wrote, "Found this old drawing from my daughter today. It says so much about how I feel. The world goes on, things appear “normal” – as we try to keep going and be strong, especially for our young kids – but it’s not and it never will be.

"For Annie and Tommy, for Cam and Kristine, for Mike and me and for all of mom’s beloved grandchildren: we ache for her, we cry out for answers, we cannot move forward. We need someone to help us, tell us what you know. Our mom was a light in this world. We want to celebrate her and give her the dignity she deserves. The reward is still available. Please. We are begging you. Please help us.

Though Savannah and her family have faced backlash online from some social media users, she chose not to dwell on the negative and ended her post saying, "Thank you to all those who have been kind and shown the best of humanity."

Her Today co-host and daughter of former President George W. Bush, Jenna Bush Hager, commented, "We love and miss Nancy. Please bring her home."

Nancy Guthrie disappeared from her Arizona home sometime in the early hours of February 1.

Though footage from her home security cameras was shared to the public, along with several ransom letters, no suspect has been identified in the case and Nancy has yet to be found.
