Ocean Springs, Mississippi - The mysterious death of 18-year-old Nolan Wells continues to impact his family, friends, and teammates, and his mother says they "still have NO ANSWERS."
Authorities and Wells' family's legal team continue to search for answers amid independent autopsies, pending toxicology results, and case-related arrests and threats, all while a new school year is kicking off.
It's been nearly two months since Wells disappeared during a Fourth of July outing to Horn Island off the Mississippi Gulf Coast before his body was found days later.
But Wells' former teammates at Ocean Springs High School, where he previously attended, and those he was looking forward to playing alongside at Southwest Mississippi Community College will have to embark on a new football season without the late teen.
"We are almost 60 days out and still have NO ANSWERS," Wells' mother, Christine Wonsley, wrote on Facebook.
The remark capped off a lengthy commemorative post ahead of Wells' brothers' Thursday night football games, a day Christine said her son would've been ecstatic for.
"Today we should’ve been talking to Nolan about how excited he was about game day! He would’ve [been] hyping everyone up," Christine said. "At 7 PM we would’ve been logging in to watch him play because his younger brothers have a game today as well.
"But instead there will be no logging in, we will not be traveling to SMCC to watch our boy play," the post read.

Her reflective message comes roughly one week after Reverend Al Sharpton, an activist who has been assisting Wells' family in their push for a transparent investigation, said he welcomes a lawsuit threatened by several of Wells' friends who have appeared in interviews with Brandon Tatum and even went back to Horn Island after Wells' death.
Though Wells' mom primarily focused the post on how much they "will miss watching him play the sport he loved," she ended it with strong remarks.
"We are almost 60 days out and still have NO ANSWERS," she said.
While there have been numerous arrests made related to Wells' case, with the latest being an Illinois man who threatened one of the witnesses and their family members, none have been in connection with his disappearance or death.
