Ocean Springs, Mississippi - Three friends of Nolan Wells, who mysteriously died after a Fourth of July outing off the Mississippi Coast, are speaking out again in yet another media appearance, with one claiming he's been sent "bomb threats in the mail," adding that he thinks "if this did anything, it got us all closer to God."
This isn't the first time Wells' friends Warren Hudson, Jax Pitalo, and Morgan Seymour have sat down with a member of the media for an interview.
Off the heels of threatening lawsuits against the legal team representing Wells' family and following an appearance on conservative commentator Brandon Tatum's podcast, the Officer Tatum Show, they opted – along with their own attorneys – to sit down with former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany for an episode of Fox News' Saturday in America.
All three of Wells' friends claim they have received death threats, with Jax saying he's received "plenty," including "bomb threats in the mail."
Warren said he has received "thousands" of death threats, as have members of his family, including his stepmom Ashlee Cole, who is a chancery judge in Mississippi.
Tyler Cox, a lawyer representing all three friends, went on to say that someone who was indicted and jailed had threatened Warren and his stepmom by claiming "they were going to slit his brothers' throats in front of them."
While Cox did not name the alleged harasser, an Illinois man named Edward James Porter was indicted in late August by a federal grand jury after being accused of threatening a witness and their family related to the case.
All three of Wells' friends spoke of their faith, with Warren saying over the last few months, he's "learned to lean on the Lord. I know my friends did as well. ... I know it's what Nolan would want me to do."
Jax echoed similar sentiments, saying, "I really think all this happened so that we could get closer to God."
When introducing the segment on Fox News, McEnany said these three friends of Wells have been "demonized" since news broke of Wells' disappearance and mysterious death.
Wells disappeared during a July 4 outing to Horn Island off the Mississippi Coast. His body was found on July 6.
A grand jury in September found there was not sufficient evidence to press charges, but Wells' family continues to demand answers and a federal investigation.
