Dana White turns down Trump's press secretary offer despite White House push

Washington DC - Dana White, the CEO of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), has reportedly turned down President Donald Trump's offer to make him the new White House press secretary.

On Saturday, Trump bizarrely offered the wide-open press secretary role, made available by short-lived press secretary Katie Zacharia, to White.

“I am pleased to announce that the Great Dana White, a violent Fighter and Warrior, has been offered the job of Press Secretary of the United States,” Trump wrote Saturday on Truth Social.

However, it seems the UFC exec will be staying away from the White House, as CNN reported that White turned down Trump's offer.

A White House aide said Trump was joking about the offer, even though White House communications director Steven Cheung shared the president’s message on X, writing, “Hell yeah! Do it, @DanaWhite! It’ll just be like old times!"

It appears the president is struggling to find the right fit for press secretary, though Cheung previously suggested rapper and Trump loyalist Nikki Minaj could fill the role. Trump last week said he'd consider bringing Minaj on board, having previously complimented her curves during a campaign event in Michigan.
