Washington DC - A recently published list exposed a number of entities that are helping President Donald Trump fund his controversial ballroom project.
On Thursday, The Washington Post published a list of 57 companies and wealthy individuals who contributed at least $100,000 to the ballroom's fundraising effort.
The highest donors, who contributed $25 million, included the Adelson Family Foundation, Apple, Dish Network co-founder Charlie Ergen, and the Nvidia Corporation.
Google contributed $22 million, while Microsoft, Lockheed Martin, and Palantir all contributed $10 million each.
Additional donors include Amazon, Facebook's parent company Meta, T-Mobile, and the son of Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.
Another $77 million was donated by donors that requested to remain anonymous.
An analysis from The Post found that nearly half of the entities on the list have had contracts with the federal government in Trump's second term.
The outlet also notes that while several administration officials are on the list, Trump himself has not made any contribution, despite claiming last year that it was being "paid for 100% by me and some friends of mine."
In a statement, a White House spokesperson called the leak of the list "cowardly" and argued the donors consist of "a wide array of great American companies and generous individuals, all of whom are contributing to make the People's House better for generations to come."
"The same critics who are alleging fake conflicts of interests, would also complain if American taxpayers were footing the bill for these long-overdue renovations," they added.
