Kyiv, Ukraine - Former Vice President Mike Pence recently shared support for President Donald Trump's war with Iran, and called on the US and Isreal to wrap things up.
During an interview on Sunday, Pence was asked how he would advise the president on the war, as the US and Iranian militaries continue exchanging strikes despite signing a 60-day memorandum of understanding to pause hostilities back in June.
Pence argued that he believes it is "absolutely imperative" that the US keeps pressure on Iran, and "keep the military assets in the region to be able to take the action that I believe is going to be inevitable."
He went on to argue, "You don't make peace with your enemy, you make peace with your defeated enemy."
"I think the time is going to come sooner rather than later when the president and our ally Israel are going to have to go in and finish the job," Pence added.
Pence served as Trump's vice president during his first term, but the two became estranged after his boss tried to pressure him to overturn the 2020 election results.
Trump and Israel launched the war in February, and the conflict has continued to escalate with no apparent end in sight.
The president recently revealed plans for a new economic campaign to "collapse" the Iranian government, and urged foreign allies to support his effort.
During his interview, Pence parroted the president by describing the plan as "D-Day style economic sanctions," and argued that Iranians "don't yet understand that they have been defeated."
