Trump announces bill to outlaw future presidents from opening the border

Dallas, Texas - President Donald Trump announced plans for a new piece of legislation, to be introduced after the midterm elections, that would ban any future presidents from re-opening the border.

The announcement came on Wednesday night during a rambling speech Trump gave to an assembled crowd at the Republican midterm convention, which saw him promise to pay every American adult $5000 if he wins the upcoming elections in November.

Titled the "No Invasion of Our Country Act," the new proposed legislation is meant to shore up support for Trump's brutal and often violent immigration policy, which has seen migrants rounded up en-masse and imprisoned in inhumane detention camps.

"We will make it legally impossible for any future president to destroy our country by having the right to open the border again," Trump declared during his nearly two-hour address to the Republican National Committee's 2026 midterm convention.

Trump provided little-to-no details about what exactly the bill will entail, implying but not confirming that it will be introduced after the November 3 election.

Border crossings by undocumented migrants have dropped under Trump's leadership, the Department of Homeland Security in June claiming that 13 consecutive months had passed with zero apprehensions and releases. This does not mean no migrants have crossed.

The president used his speech to lambast the administration of his predecessor, President Joe Biden, whom he repeatedly insulted.

"So the Dumocrats gave us the worst and most dangerous border in American history, with 25 million illegal aliens pouring in," Trump rambled. "Today, we have the strongest and most secure border in the history of our country."

"We have the lowest level of illegal immigration ever recorded. In the past 16 months, a historic record of zero illegal aliens have been admitted into the United States," Trump claimed.
