Clemson, South Carolina - President Donald Trump has been met with plenty of protesters at his recent rally events, and he's now relying on his MAGA base to take care of the problem.

On Wednesday night, the president spoke at a rally at Clemson University, where he was interrupted by a protester who was subsequently punched by a MAGA fan, eliciting glowing praise from Trump.

"That was great, man! Wow," he said, per CBS News. "I watched that. That was incredible."

"Who's the guy that threw that punch? You know, you reminded me of Evander, the real deal, Holyfield," he continued, referring to a former heavyweight boxer who was also in attendance.

"You gotta give them credit," he added about the protester. "It takes courage to do that at a Trump rally. He got whacked."

Trump has regularly been leading rallies ahead of the midterm elections, which are less than two weeks away. On the campaign trail, protesters have followed the president at nearly every stop.

At Wednesday's rally alone, he was interrupted at least nine different times, according to WYFF4.

Violence towards protesters has also been on the rise. At a rally in Ohio last week, a woman wearing a shirt that read "Release the Epstein Files" was assaulted by multiple men in the crowd as the president mocked her weight, per NBC News.

Trump has repeatedly alleged, without evidence, that these protesters have been "paid" to crash his events.
