Trump destroys JD Vance's dreams of a 2028 endorsement with stunning comments
Washington DC - President Donald Trump recently cast doubt on the chances he will give his Vice President JD Vance an endorsement if he runs for president in 2028.
In an interview on Monday, Vance said that though he has not made up his mind about running, he is confident his boss would support him.
"My attitude is, if I run, I think the president would endorse me. But I also haven't talked to him about it yet," Vance stated.
The following day, Vance joined the president in the Oval Office to announce the launch of their new Fraud Whistleblower Incentive Program.
When a reporter then asked Trump about a Vance endorsement, he closed his eyes and shook his head before responding.
"He's a very talented person and a very good person, but... literally, I don't think we've ever talked about it," Trump said.
"Who would believe that?" Trump added. "It's early, very early."
Trump endorsements are seen as powerful in Republican circles, as party voters tend to rally behind whoever he backs.
Throughout his second term, there has been heavy speculation about who will step up to take Trump's place. Numerous polls have found Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio to be top contenders.
Back in June, Trump suggested that Vance and Rubio should run on the same ticket, but refused to reveal who he thought should be at the top.
