New York, New York - Disgraced former Congressman George Santos was grilled about his bizarre history in politics as he made his reality TV debut.

On Thursday night, the Fox show Special Forces: World's Toughest Test kicked off its fifth season, which featured a tense moment where Santos was confronted by military veterans Jovon Quarles and Billy Billingham for failing to follow their commands.

Santos claimed he was suffering from "severe back pain" that "got the best of me," but neither bought his story. Quarles responded, "There's no such thing as excuses."

Quarles then brought up how Santos was ousted from Congress in 2023 after an ethics report alleged he filed false campaign financial reports and engaged in fraudulent conduct.

In response, Santos argued, "I didn't steal any money, sir. I misappropriated funds."

Quarles then grilled him a number of lies he told while in office

"You lied about your family's heritage, your degrees, your employers, your whole identity - Why would you do that?" he asked.

Santos told them he fell into lying repeatedly, stating, "My ambition led me to want more."

Again, the two weren't buying it, as Billingham told him, "I don't want your lies."

When asked if he felt he paid his dues for his crimes, Santos said, "I think I was overcharged by this overly zealous court."

Santos was sentenced to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to using stolen donor money to bankroll a lavish lifestyle for himself. But after serving just three months, his sentence was commuted by President Donald Trump for seemingly no reason other than the fact that Santos is an outspoken supporter of his.

Despite his many scandals, Santos has insisted on staying in the public eye by regularly commenting on politics on social media, launching a podcast, and now, starring on reality TV.

In an X post, Santos said he know what he was getting into with the show, and vowed to "continue on MY personal journey of healing and will NOT let anyone take me from that path."
