Washington DC - Hunter Biden, the son of former President Joe Biden, recently shared whether he has any interest in following in his father's political footsteps.

During a recent interview on The Cats Roundtable podcast, Hunter was asked flat-out if he would consider running for the role, to which he said, "I haven't made up my mind."

When asked again later, he jokingly told the host, "If I get your endorsement, I may have to."

Hunter also shared that he believes Democrats currently have an "incredible bench," touting his "love" for politicians such as California Governor Gavin Newsom.

His remarks come as interest has grown in who could become a Democratic candidate to succeed President Donald Trump in the 2028 contest.

Polls have found Newsom, who has expressed interest in running, as a top contender, along with New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and former Vice President Kamala Harris.

Above all, Hunter argued that whoever the Democratic nominee is, they should be someone who can "commit to adhering to the rule of law," something Trump is known for not doing, and should prioritize keeping the country safe.

Since his father left office, Hunter has done tons of interviews speaking out against the Trump administration and speaking in his father's favor. Meanwhile, President Biden publicly announced that he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer.

In an interview last month, Hunter revealed his father's illness had "metastasized into his bones and further" despite treatment, and though the pain is "debilitating," he is still out "doing his thing."
