Rome, Georgia - Former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has suggested President Donald Trump is doing more harm than good by rallying for Republican candidates ahead of the midterms.
In an X post shared on Monday, Greene included a clip of the president giving a speech where he suggested he would not provide needed federal funding to her home state of Georgia if Senate candidate Mike Collins loses his race.
"He has no idea how bad he is doing in GA. And to threaten our state that he would refuse to help the good people of Georgia just because he doesn't like who calls him shows how much he really doesn't care," MTG wrote in her post.
"Trump has become a curse to Republican candidates, and it will be worse in '28," she added.
Despite his historically low approval ratings, the Republican Party has chosen to rely on Trump and his MAGA base to lead them to victory in the midterms, where they are fighting to maintain their majorities in the House and Senate.
In recent weeks, Trump has been traveling across the country to speak at rallies in support of MAGA-aligned candidates. Along the way, he's faced criticism for numerous controversial comments, including telling crowds that the high gas prices fueled by his war with Iran are a "small price to pay."
Recently, many of Trump's speeches have been interrupted by protesters, including one who was punched by a MAGA supporter in an incident that garnered praise from the president himself.
