Sweden – When Mikaela Bätz became pregnant with her daughter Lilly, she didn’t know how her Labrador dog Elvis would react to the baby. A thought kept running through her mind: "What if they don’t get along?" What happened next was something unexpected.

In a now-viral Instagram clip, Labrador Elvis doesn’t seem at all upset by his owner’s pregnancy.

On the contrary, the first shot shows him resting his head, completely relaxed, on the pregnant woman’s baby bump.

Admittedly, in the next scene Elvis meets baby Lilly for the first time – and he does appear a bit reserved.

He sniffs the little one cautiously, still not quite sure what to make of the girl.

But the later scenes make it clear that the dog and the newborn are now inseparable.

Elvis licks Lilly, he cuddles with her, and the dog just generally can't get enough of his new tiny bestie.

In the caption, dog (and now human) mom Mikaela steps into Elvis’s shoes, putting words to the feelings that are written all over her pet's face.

Mikaela writes from his perspective about little Lilly, saying, "My Lilly, my Lilly!“

The "dog" continues, writing, "She's always generous with her food and loves me and dogs more than anything in the world. If she cries, I'm there in a heartbeat."

Elvis the Labrador concludes the post by saying that little Lilly is "one of the pack" and adding that "she truly was the final piece of our family puzzle."
