Los Angeles, California - Jennifer Aniston has announced the passing of her father, Days of Our Lives star and TV screen veteran John Aniston.

On Monday, the Friends alum broke the heartbreaking news on Instagram, where she announced that her dad, who was best known for his role as Victor Kiriakis on the popular soap opera, died at the age of 89.

"Sweet papa…⁣ You were one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew," the 53-year-old Emmy-winner began.

"I am so grateful that you went soaring into the heavens in peace - and without pain. And on 11/11 no less!"

"You always had perfect timing. That number will forever hold an even greater meaning for me now, I'll love you till the end of time. Don't forget to visit," she concluded the touching tribute.

Several of Aniston's industry friends have since offered their condolences in the comments section, including her ex-husband Justin Theroux.

John Aniston began starring in his most prominent role on the longtime soap-drama in 1985. He also appeared in the shows The West Wing, Gilmore Girls, and Mad Men.

In 1965, the I Spy star was married to the late actor Nancy Dow, Jennifer Aniston's mother, and the pair divorced in 1980.

John Aniston also leaves behind his son Alex, whom he shared with his second wife, Sherry Rooney.
