Since the start of his career at the tender age of 13, the pop singer has been the center of various controversies. Aside from dabbling in drugs and love affairs, one thing was constant: his hair!

Most people will remember the teenage heartthrob with his signature typical Bieber hairstyle: low, side-swept bangs that covered most of his face.

Today, the Canadian is 27-years-old, fully tattooed, has overcome more bouts with drugs, and lives with his wife, 24-year-old model Hailey Bieber together in Los Angeles.

In April, Bieber caused a hairy scandal when he brought his dreadlocks back for the first time since 2016, which many immediately blasted as an instance of cultural appropriation.

It seems like the backlash worked its magic, because Bieber has just shared an equally startling new look on Instagram.

The photo, captioned simply "Happy Sunday," shows him sitting next to his wife Hailey with a fresh buzzcut.

But what inspired the singer to part with his dreadlocks? Biebs has kept quiet on Instagram and did not answer the questions of reporter from TMZ.

Whether the change in style was due to criticism or perhaps sheer boredom, followers can only guess. The cut does seem a bit uneven and not professionally done, so more than likely the singer wanted a fresh summer style and handled the situation himself.

But they seemed to like the new hairdo anyway, with the photo getting more than five million likes within a few hours.
