New York, New York - Safaree and Erica Mena revealed that they are expecting their second child in a bank-heist maternity photoshoot. Fans were taken aback by the news since the couple had marital problems months ago.

On May 3, the Love & Hip Hop: New York stars shared the announcement on their respective Instagram pages.

"More Life ♥️✨ Who wants that perfect love story anyway," Mena captioned the photo of her and Samuels in front of an open vault while the rapper held a Louis Vitton bag.

In another post, Mena wrote, "Marriage - It’s not easy at all. But having a family of your very own makes up for it all. God, I thank you for the protection and all the consistent blessings. I have been through way too much to not be as grateful as I truly am."

While friends and fans offered their congratulations, others were surprised, given the pair's past marital issues.

Earlier this year, Safaree made headlines after he wrote in a deleted tweet that getting married was the "biggest mistake" of his life.

"I mean this from the bottom of my heart getting married was 1 of my BIGGEST mistakes and it will never happen again. I’m walking away before I end up in jail over some dumb s**t. Nobody is worth my freedom!!!" the hip-hop artist tweeted.

Mena responded to her husband's rant, writing, "Since you always run to social media like a little girl I might as well join in. I absolutely agree with you on this. You are the most selfish, vain, and inconsiderate person. And not just with me but your only daughter!"

From the couple's latest news, it seems they may have figured things out! Mena and Samuels wed in 2019 and are also parents to 15-month-old, Safire.
