The Ellen DeGeneres Show has been among the first of its sort to bring back a live studio audience in October this year. 40 audience members have been allowed in the studio, along with 70 virtual members, a representative told the Independent.

The famous host did not suggest where she contracted the virus and did not disclose whether her wife Portia de Rossi was showing any signs of infection.

Since the onset of the pandemic in the US, several celebrities have been infected with Covid-19, including Hollywood actor Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson; actor Olga Kurylenko, who starred with Daniel Craig in Quantum of Solace (2008); and pop star Pink.
