On Tuesday, Rolling Stone confirmed that prosecutors hit the Can I artist with a third felony charge as jury selection continues in the shooting trial brought on by Megan Thee Stallion's accusations against him.

Per the outlet, Lanez, who's real name is Daystar Peterson, has already pleaded not guilty to one felony count each of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.

Now, the Say It singer faces an additional felony charge related to discharging a firearm with gross negligence by allegedly inflicting great bodily injury on the Savage rapper, who accused Peterson of pointing a semiautomatic 9 millimeter handgun at her feet before shooting her.

While the latest charge carries a possible six-year prison sentence and still qualifies as a deportable crime, it doesn't add any time to the maximum sentence of 22 years and eight months that he's currently facing if convicted.

Megan Thee Stallion, born Megan Pete, claims the Canadian artist shot her in the foot on July 12, 2020, after she tried to get out of his vehicle during an argument. Soon after the incident, he was arrested in Hollywood Hills and charged with carrying a concealed weapon in his vehicle.

Initially, it was reported that Megan – who was also present – sustained a foot wound caused by glass.

The Take Control rapper later disputed these claims and maintained that she underwent surgery after suffering "gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me."

Jury selection for Tory Lanez's trial is still underway with opening statements expected to begin on December 12.
