The video, titled "what happened.," features the group's remaining members, Eugene Lee Yang, Zach Kornfeld, and Keith Habersberger, discussing the situation for the first time.

Though there were still "legal issues" surrounding the situation that are still being worked through, the video gives a timeline of how the allegations came to light and the internal review that led to Fulmer's firing.

Over Labor Day weekend, the Try Guys were apparently first made aware that Fulmer and an employee of the company had been spotted "engaging in public romantic behavior." After Fulmer, who has been married to Ariel Fulmer since 2012, confirmed the affair, the group decided to fire Fulmer.

"From the jump, we were acutely aware of just how contrary this was to the values of the company we've built and those of everyone who works here," Yang said.

Aside from already released videos from which Fulmer has been edited out, Kornfeld also revealed that some content would be withheld entirely. "There are several videos that we've deemed as fully unreleasable. You will never see them and that is due to his involvement, and that is a decision that has cost us lots of money. We will not be able to recoup that money, but it’s a decision we stand by proudly," he said.

Habersberger explained that the group had filmed sponsored content with Fulmer before he was fired that will be released in the coming weeks and will not be edited.

Alex Herring was quickly identified online as the employee with whom Fulmer had the affair, but the remaining members of the group never name her directly in the video. Along with this, Yang reminded viewers that "the internet has a tendency to be a lot harsher towards women than men" and urged fans to "exercise kindness."

Yang, Kornfeld, and Habersberger all appeared extremely emotional about Fulmer's firing. Kornfeld expressed hope for a brighter future with even better videos, but acknowledged that the transition would be difficult.

"I don't think we'll ever be able to fully articulate the pain we feel at this moment. It's hard to rewatch old videos that we love and are proud of. We're losing a friend. We're losing someone we built a company with, we have countless memories with. We just made a TV show together," said Kornfeld.

"I'm sure many of you feel the same way. It's weird. We're sorry that this ever happened, and we don't know what more to say," continued Kornfeld.

Naturally, social media went into a frenzy after the video was uploaded on Monday evening. With almost 12 million views on TikTok and over 4 million on YouTube, the clip made an almighty impact.

Many applauded the professionalism and honesty with which the YouTube stars handled the response.

Twitter user @FlossAus wrote, "The Try Guys video statement is incredibly well done. It balances the professional and legal requirements, along with the rawness and emotional implications that this whole thing has created as well as trying to be as transparent as they can with their audience."

Yang's demeanor in the video caught particular attention, with "Eugene" trending on Twitter shortly after the video was posed. Fans quickly speculated that Yang is far angrier about the scandal than he was able to show in the video.

Though they did not give any specific details, the Try Guys confirmed that there is "more to come" following the explanation video.
