On Friday, BTS virtually stopped by Good Morning America to kick off its summer concert series and talk about the massive success of their latest hit, Butter.

Like many artists, BTS spent much of lockdown working on new music for K-pop fans to lap up. Little did they know that the first single they released would go on to break records in a matter of five days!

According to the Guinness World Records website, the music video for Butter broke the record for most viewers for the premiere of a video on YouTube, racking up 3.9 million view on its release day.

Within 24 hours of the video's release, BTS broke yet another record, this time for the most viewed YouTube music video in a 24-hour period of time, with 108 million views.

When asked what their secret was to creating these worldwide smash hits, the band simply said, "thinking of our army–that's the biggest inspiration."

Having a fanatically devoted fanbase that does justice to its nickname – Army – comes with certain perks!

And Army is getting recruits from all age groups and locations. At the start of April, John Cena admitted that the motivation to write books came from a 2018 BTS album that inspired him to open up.

Cena told Ellen, "These books exist because the BTS Army was brave enough to support my vulnerable moment."

It's easy to see the kind of reach BTS has, and the sky's the limit for this multi-faceted and unstoppable boy band.
