Breaking records: Bridgerton is Netflix's biggest series ever!
Los Angeles, California - It's official: the Regency-era period piece Bridgerton is Netflix's most-watched series ever!
Since it's release on December 25, most people will have at least heard of the new raunchy drama produced by Shonda Rhimes and Chris Van Dusen.
Bridgerton truly is the talk of the world. And it's no surprise!
As Netflix announced on Wednesday, the show was watched in 82 million households out of the total 200 million Netflix subscribers – within only 28 days!
This makes it the most watched Netflix original series ever.
All over the world (except Japan), Bridgerton is still in the top 10 and in a staggering 83 countries, it's number one on the Netflix charts.
That called for a celebration, so Netflix quickly put together a little appreciation video and shared it on Twitter with the words: "Thank you for making Bridgerton our biggest series ever".
Not just the show turned into a huge success!
As many may know, the Regency-era period piece is based on a book series written by Julia Quinn. And while the show is breaking records all over the world, several parts of the series have entered the New York Times bestseller list!
Just last week, Netflix had great news for its drama fans: the story of the Bridgerton family is far from over! Season two will begin filming in the spring of 2021
