Big news for Star Wars fans: Jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi will not only return in his own Star Wars spin-off, but he will also have a recurring role in another planned project.

Obi-Wan Kenobi will reportedly be starring in the Star Wars spin-off Andor, which is scheduled to run on Disney+ in 2022.

According to an exclusive Illuminerdi report, Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi will have a reoccurring role in Andor, a spin-off to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

The 2016 feature film was set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, and focused on the rebellion against the overbearing Galactic Empire.

Rogue One closed some of the gaps between Episode III and IV, but not all of them.

Lucasfilm is now making an effort to connect all the dots for Star Wars fans, announcing that Cassian Andor, a main character in Rogue One, is getting his own Disney+ twelve-episode series, detailing his story and how he came to join the Rebel Alliance.

Production on Andor is expected to end this July and the show will hit the streaming service next year.

Toby Haynes will be directing, along with Ben Caron and Susanna White. The stellar cast features Diego Luna, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Fiona Shaw, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, and Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma.

Scottish actor Ewan McGregor (49) will return as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the show. He is one of the most-loved characters in the Star Wars universe, which is why he's getting his own much-anticipated spin-off.

Main production on Obi-Wan Kenobi will begin in March. It is poised to premiere on Disney+ in 2022 and will run for six episodes.

Obi-Wan Kenobi also sees the return of Hayden Christensen (39) as Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker.

The Canadian actor was repeatedly slammed for his portrayal in Episodes II and III. Now, he's getting the chance to prove his critics wrong, over 16 years later.

Alongside Christensen, Game of Thrones star Indira Varma (47) will also star on the series.

With its A-list cast, the show is poised to become a smash hit on Disney+.

There are also rumors that the almost universally-hated Jar Jar Binks will return to the screens, although they have yet to be confirmed. It's also unclear whether the Andor storyline will overlap with the Obi-Wan Kenobi series.

Either way, fans are already excited to see the Jedi Master getting an additional chapter in the Andor spin-off.
