Buda, Texas - Children ring strangers' doorbells on Halloween demanding, "Trick-or-treat." But one child got the scare of their life on Sunday.

It seems Monica Ann Bradford had had enough of children coming to her door on Halloween.

The Texas resident then took the spooky holiday a step too far.

According to a Facebook post by local police, officers were called to Quarter Avenue around 7:20 PM local time on Halloween Day.

There, the resident had left her apartment and pointed a loaded gun at a seven-year-old child who was walking outside.

Bradford also was said to be shouting loudly at children in the area. Police officers took the woman into custody shortly afterwards.

She has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, which is a second degree felony.

The 35-year-old was transported to the Hays County Jail. Her bond was set at $10,000 cash.

The Hays County Sheriff's Office said it was still conducting interviews from witnesses.

It doesn't seem likely that neighborhood kids will be visiting her door next Halloween.
