Internet - A man wanted to spice up his sex life as a role-playing handyman, but when he tried to have sex through a doorknob hole, he really couldn't handle his tool.

Erik and his girlfriend Katie had a sexual misadventure that was definitely more pain than pleasure.

The accident landed them in the hospital and was featured on the TLC reality show Sex Sent Me to the ER.

As Erik was repairing the door to their bedroom, he decided to role-play as a sexy handyman to have a fling with his partner of two years, who he says has "an amazing sex drive."

"It's really hard to keep up," he said on the show.

So Erik decided to pop some erectile potency pills to match her stamina and give their lovemaking a little more oomph.

The frisky "handyman" then drilled a hole in the door where a doorknob might go and instead stuck his penis through it.

"At the time I thought it was a stroke of genius. She loves when I'm really goofy," he said.

Katie was thrilled by the idea, and the two began to have sex through the door.

Yet, as Erik's member continued to grow, it got stuck in the door!

Erik and Katie hoped that if they stopped having sex and tried not to panic, the problem would deflate.

But Erik's pain continued to swell. With no other choice, the couple called for professional help.

When paramedics arrived, they realized that his penis would not shrink due to the effects of the pill he had taken.

They warned that Erik could lose his private part if they didn't take action, so they cut a picture frame-sized piece of wood out of the door – with his penis still stuck inside.

Erik traveled to the hospital with the extra appendage, where doctors luckily managed to free his member from the wooden block.

It's safe to say that Erik and Katie probably won't be drilling through the door again anytime soon.
