Tesla's Cybertruck: After yet another delay, when is the brick rolling out?

Palo Alto, California - Tesla's 2021 earning release wasn't just good news about the company becoming even more successful. It also dealt a blow to the roughly one million would-be owners of its long-awaited Cybertruck.

Elon Musk's January 26 earning call included some bad news for the people who are waiting for Tesla's futuristic Cybertruck, which has been pushed back to 2023 at the earliest.

This is only the most recent delay. The initial 2021 release was pushed back to this year, in part due to the company's focus on producing more Tesla Model S and Model 3 electric cars.

Tesla's next lines of electric vehicles were likely also delayed because of the ongoing global shortage of semiconductors, which are a key part of the tech in modern electric vehicles.

Basically, Tesla only has enough pieces to finish a product already sells, versus finish a product that is still just in the prototype stage.

"We will not be introducing new vehicle models this year," Musk confirmed during the call, which definitively ends any chance of seeing Tesla’s new Roadster sports car or electric semi-truck until at least late 2022.

But hey, if all the out-of-stock or not-yet-released e-trucks are getting you down, you can always just do what YouTube inventor Simone Giertz did, and chop a Tesla coup to make one yourself!
