She just can't help it: the 29-year-old loves to provoke.

Just a few weeks ago, the musician showed her 600,000 Instagram followers how she dug up her deceased cat Lucifer in the middle of the night.

But that wasn't all: Banks then cooked the animal and proudly displayed the skeleton in her apartment!

Afterwards, rumors made the rounds that she had eaten the carcass of her former pet.

The story is unfounded, the rapper claimed on The Kyle and Jackie O Show radio program: "I didn't eat the cat, and I personally wouldn't eat a cat that's been dead for three months."

Instead, she had entirely different plans for her four-legged friend's remains: "That's part of taxidermy. I don't know what you think happens when you go to a medical school and you see a full skull or you see a full skeleton in there. It's the same thing that happens."

The musician then provided more fuel for the fire right afterwards. In front of the running camera, she held up a skull and said: "There are lots of scientific research websites where you can actually buy human skulls like this one."

The specimen she purchased once belonged to a six-year-old girl who died of a head injury.

"I love bones. I respect the afterlife. [...] I think that the bone is where the energy holds of a person."

When her pet fell ill, she had to make a decision: would she let a vet put her furry friend down or let it die peacefully at home?

Azealia chose the latter option: "I wasn't comfortable [having him put down], so I let him die peacefully at home and buried him. And I dug him up to get his skull so that I could clean it off and have it forever."
