Christina Applegate feels like a "fraud" after revealing she was misdiagnosed with MS

Los Angeles, California - Christina Applegate had become the "poster child" for MS after revealing her diagnosis, giving a voice to those affected by the disease. But after learning that she was actually misdiagnosed, the actor admits she feels like a "fraud."

For five years, the 54-year-old believed she had multiple sclerosis. She co‑founded the podcast MeSsy with fellow actor Jamie‑Lynn Sigler, who also lives with the disease, where they speak unflinchingly about their struggles.

In the latest episode, featuring guest Jack Osbourne, Applegate gave an update on how she's feeling after learning her initial diagnosis was not accurate.

Osbourne was diagnosed with MS 14 years ago, yet when he meets other patients with far more severe symptoms, he "feels like a bit of a fraud."

Applegate then fired back with a punchy joke: "Talk about being a fraud. I don't even have it anymore. Geez."

Co-host Sigler and their guest assured her that she would still remain an "honorary member" of the community.

And Applegate agreed, adding, "I'll never leave this community. I've made so many lifelong friends. I care so deeply about everybody we represent. I'm still always gonna be a part of it one way or another."

Even after the misdiagnosis, the Emmy winner finds it hard to let go of the "identity," as MS has defined her for so long.

"I need to get my s**t together," she concluded.

Now that it's clear Applegate doesn't have MS, she's back to square one when it comes to finding an explanation for her health struggles. In the meantime, several tests are being conducted to assess her symptoms.
