Greenville, South Carolina - A newly released police report on the death of Hayden Panettiere has revealed that the actor secretly entered rehab prior to her fatal overdose last month.

Per Page Six, law enforcement in Greenville, South Carolina, noted in their report that Panettiere had been seeking treatment at a drug rehab facility "up until a few weeks ago."

The information came from the Heroes star's father, Skip, who said she spent "two or three weeks" at the Malibu facility before being released.

The report also pointed to possible previous overdoses, as it stated that either Panettiere's ex, Brian Hickerson, or his brother had administered Narcan – an emergency treatment used to reverse an opioid overdose – to her before.

Panettiere was found unresponsive on August 16 at an Airbnb in Greenville, where she was reportedly staying with Hickerson.

Medical examiners have determined her death to have been an accidental overdose that involved four different drugs, including fentanyl.

Panettiere is said to have had a troubled relationship with Hickerson, who was previously arrested for domestic abuse.

Neighbors recalled Panettiere being taken out of the apartment she shared with Hickerson on a gurney, saying that the Scream actor appeared "bruised" and "battered," according to another Page Six report.

Panettiere's estranged mother has even publicly questioned Hickerson's account of her daughter's death and told police she believes he is "culpable" in the tragedy.
