Los Angeles, California - Selena Gomez's chapter as Alex Russo has ended after starring in the TV sequel series Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.

The singer-actor joined her co-stars David Henrie and Jennifer Stone for a special hosted by Entertainment Tonight that coincided with the Disney+ show's shocking four-part finale.

Selena is captured saying between previews of the finale, "This is it. This is the end of Wizards of Waverly Place, the end of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place."

She noted, "And it's really surreal to say that I'm done playing this character."

The Spring Breakers star debuted as Alex Russo on the original Disney series in 2007 and reprised her character in the 2024 reboot.

Selena added, "My hope is that people fall in love with family shows again, and that they hold this to a standard of appreciating what it means to just have a show that the whole family can get together, watch, hopefully laugh. I'm going to really miss that."

Though her time as Alex Russo is over, Selena will return as Mabel Mora in Only Murders in the Building season 6 this fall!
