Washington DC - President Donald Trump recently revealed that he has offered the vacant role of White House press secretary to MAGA loyalist and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) CEO Dana White.
In a Truth Social post shared on Saturday, the president announced that he had offered White the position, describing him as "a violent fighter and warrior."
Trump went on to say he requested that White bring a list of UFC fighters as assistants "even though some are not from our Country."
"We need these people to defend us against the Lunatic Left," Trump added.
The announcement comes after Democrats managed to win a number of races across the country on Tuesday, taking back the majority in both the House and Senate.
Many critics have described the midterm elections as a major rebuke to the first two years of President Trump's second term.
White has been a longtime MAGA loyalist, regularly using UFC events as positive PR for the politician. Trump has recently returned the favor by staging a UFC fight on the White House lawn for his birthday, and his FBI has sought to implement a program in which agents receive training in Mixed Martial Arts from UFC fighters.
If he accepts the position, White would replace Katie Zacharia, who served as press secretary for only five days before being let go last month.
President Trump left open the possibility that White might turn down the role, as he concluded his post saying, "Dana, please take the job!"
