Trump rages about Fox News host's exit as jaw-dropping revelations emerge
Washington DC - Amid jaw-dropping revelations about why Maria Bartiromo's left Fox News, President Donald Trump went on a bizarre social media meltdown in defense of the MAGA-aligned host.
"I can't believe Maria Bartiromo is no longer going to have her great show(s) on FoxNews/Business," Trump lamented on Truth Social mere hours after the news dropped that Bartiromo was exiting her role at Fox News, effective immediately.
"Three different shows, always number one. Maria is a total professional, and a true warrior. Her fans, of which there are many, will not be happy. God bless you, Maria!" he wrote on Thursday evening.
Bartiromo had hosted numerous shows for Fox, including Fox: Mornings with Maria on Fox Business and Sunday Morning Futures on Fox News. She has been a fierce ally of Trump's since he entered the political stage in 2015.
Her repeated and unsubstantiated claims that the 2020 election was "stolen" by former President Joe Biden lead to numerous defamation lawsuits against the network, which ended up paying hundreds of millions in fines.
Trump's comments also came as reports emerged alleging that Bartiromo had been dismissed because she leaked secret information about Fox to the White House.
According to Status, Fox News had issued written instructions to senior employees in July ordering them to steer clear of addressing his false claims about the 2020 election contained in the president's bizarre and rambling address to the nation.
While the network hasn't officially revealed why Bartiromo left, it's believed that she provided the Trump administration with a copy of these instructions.
The report from Status is so-far unsubstantiated, but Fox has immediately sought to scrub Bartiromo from its network, already removing her from Fox Business Network's contributor page and renaming several of her shows.
