London, UK - Ultimate Fighting Championship CEO Dana White shared his first public reaction after President Donald Trump offered him the job of White House press secretary.
When asked about the offer during a news conference at a boxing event on Saturday evening, White said he has "a lot of jobs already," but revealed he was scheduled to fly to Washington DC to discuss it with the president directly.
"We have a meeting on Monday, so I'm sure I'll have a lot more to talk about after that," he said.
White's remarks came after Trump revealed his offer in a Truth Social post earlier that day, describing the UFC CEO as "a violent fighter and warrior."
Trump also called on his ally and a list of UFC fighters to "defend us against the Lunatic Left."
Shortly after, a report came out claiming White had declined the offer, but his remarks show he might be entertaining the idea after all.
Before Saturday night's news conference, White shared an Instagram story featuring a screenshot of Trump's post alongside an AI-generated image of himself behind the podium of the White House briefing room with the caption, "On to the next chapter."
If White – a longtime MAGA loyalist – accepts the position, he will replace Katie Zacharia, who served as press secretary for only five days before being let go last month.
There has been unconfirmed speculation online that Trump was advised to appoint Dana W. White, a former Pentagon spokesperson, to the role, but the president tapped the UFC boss by mistake.
