Denver, Colorado - Congresswoman Lauren Boebert has managed to get a restraining order against an activist who has accused her of having sex with members of her staff.
According to CBS News, a Colorado judge on Thursday granted Boebert a temporary protection order against David Wheeler, the president of the American Muckrakers Political Action Committee.
The order said Wheeler – who lives in North Carolina – constituted "a credible risk of physical harm or a threat of physical, psychological, and emotional harm" and called for him to stay at least 100 yards away from the politician.
He was also ordered to appear in court on October 1.
The move comes after Wheeler filed a complaint last week with the House Committee on Ethics claiming to have evidence that Boebert had sexual relations with three aides and arranged a $200,000 payment for a former aide to keep quiet about it.
He claims to have two reliable sources – one of which is Jace Ratzlaff, the ex-husband of one of the aides – who are "ready and willing to testify under oath and provide receipts without subpoena."
Ratzlaff has denied being the source and took a polygraph test to prove it, which found he was telling the truth.
Boebert – a MAGA Republican who regularly touts her faith and "Family Values" agenda – has vehemently denied the allegations, describing them as "a politically motivated stunt" designed to smear her ahead of the November midterm elections.
Wheeler told FOX31 that he plans to sue Boebert for defamation and will have his attorneys serve her when they both appear in court on October 1.
