New York, New York - The NFL has asked President Donald Trump's administration to remove an anti-immigration ad that used footage of one of their players.

On Sunday evening, the Department of Homeland Security shared a video on X that features clips of Philadelphia Eagles safety and Hall of Famer Brian Dawkins doing his pregame walkouts as the words "The time has come" is heard in the background.

The video then plays a compilation of hard hits from Dawkins against opposing players.

DHS included a caption that reads, "Our time has come," along with an attached post from another user that claims a "huge migrant caravan [is] heading towards the US southern border."

According to ESPN, the NFL has reached out to DHS asking for the video to be taken down, but as of Tuesday morning, it remains up.

Dawkins also told the outlet that he had "very respectfully not given permission" to be featured in the ad.

In the president's second term, his administration has made a habit of sharing social media videos and content featuring the works and images of artists, sports stars, actors, and other influential people to push their agenda.

The administration recently faced heavy backlash for launching an ad campaign paid for using taxpayer money, and used the music of an artist without their permission.

Back in March, the White House shared a video similar to the one of Dawkins showing NFL and NCAA football hits alongside video of airstrikes on Iranian targets.
