Lethbridge, Canada - Remy Schofield has finally been rewarded with an accolade he has long said he deserves – the Guinness World Record (GWR) for being the most tattooed person living!
For many years, Remy Schofield has fought to be recognized as the world's most tattooed living man, using his social media clout – including nearly 190,000 followers on Instagram – to lobby GWR for the much-coveted accolade.
"Anyone who's paid any amount of attention or is even capable of Googling this can find that [the previous record holder, Lucky Diamond Rich] has had nowhere near as many layers as me," Remy said earlier this year.
"I even had a message from the man himself not long ago agreeing with this, so it's pretty absurd when people will try and defend a decade-old record that has been broken by more than just me."
Remy is covered, head-to-toe, in dozens of layers of thick tattoo ink, forming intricate patterns that have been blacked over and replaced on multiple occasions.
Now, he's finally achieved his biggest desire – GWR have officially declared him the most tattooed man living!
"I honestly never expected or planned to have a world record for this, but my passion for the work itself had me come to this quite naturally," Remy told GWR in response to the news.
"It was around 2019–2020 when people started asking me if I had a world record for hours and layers tattooed, by around 2022 I knew that I did just based on a lack of documentation from any other living person that rivaled or surpassed my own."
"My rule for life is that those who truly love you will accept you for who you are, and who you want to be," Remy said.
