Edinburgh, Scotland - Comedian and artist Harriet Richardson revealed she has tattooed the names of the mothers of every single man she's ever slept with as a form of performance art.
Running down the side of Richardson's torso is a series of 15 women's names, listed in the chronological order in which she slept with each of their sons.
The unusual tattoo is the only one to decorate her body – Richardson isn't the biggest fan – and is a crucial part of her performance art project, dubbed "Temporary."
It wasn't the easiest project to get done – from the start, she only knew 12 of the names. For two of the remaining three, she was forced to hire a private detective.
"Temporary is essentially the name of the one woman that every man holds apart from all others in his life," she told Metro.
"I'm a relationship girly, so I've always sort of known the mothers," Richardson continued. "There were two names that I didn't know from one-night stands that happened in the pandemic, so I got a private detective to help me find them."
"I've always wanted a reason to hire a private detective. You've just heard me go on about obsession for half an hour – I've always wanted a reason, and I finally found one."
She explained that she decided against getting the men's names tattooed because she didn't want a man's name inked permanently into her skin.
"Every single one of these people have played a role in your life, whether it was for an evening or four years," she said.
"They were more sort of pivotal or poignant to me than any of the men were because I actually think that woman's had a pretty similar experience to me."
