New York, New York - Alan Rickman's recently-published diaries have revealed that the actor strongly disagreed with some of the decisions being made by producers in the Harry Potter films.

The late star's diaries have caught significant attention for their brutal honesty, especially his critical comments about the Potter films and his co-stars.

The diaries revealed that Rickman nearly quit the Potter franchise shortly after the second film.

The actor also discussed clashes with the production team while working on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two, admitting a clear frustration with the film's production team.

Per Insider, Rickman said that he had to "push the bile back down" when three of the movie's producers — David Heyman, David Barron, and director David Yates — entered his trailer.

Rickman took particular issue with Yates, who directed the final four Potter films.

"David Y., however, does exactly what he wants. There is a kind of listening but real stubbornness," he wrote. "A man who nods sympathetically and goes nowhere unplanned or so it seems."

Rickman said that he found a "fatal flaw" in the final confrontation between his character, Severus Snape, and Voldemort. The intense scene sees the franchise's antagonist use his snake, Nagini, to kill Snape.

The actor lamented that he had "lost the edit button in HP conversations," and his concerns about the scene fell on deaf ears.

Rickman did not specify what his issue with the scene was.

Rickman died of pancreatic cancer in 2016 at the age of 69.
