Now that Kim Kardashian is newly single, rumors are swirling that a spark has been struck with CNN host and political commentator Van Jones.

The 52-year-old definitely already admires the reality TV mogul. In 2019 he told Andy Cohen that Kim was "brilliant" and the two talked a few times a week.

"She's incredibly persuasive and persistent and she eats law books for, like, breakfast," he said.

Van has influenced Kim's journey to becoming a lawyer, and they've shared a friendship for the past few years – which he's documented on Instagram.

The two first met at the White House in 2018 and have bonded over their passion for criminal justice reform. They sat down for one-on-one interviews together that year, and again during the pandemic in April 2020.

Kim said recently that she is laser-beam focused on earning her full law degree. Last week, she posted a photo of herself "studying in the sun" in an itty-bitty bikini.

Van is a New York Times best-selling author and hosts his own news shows. His net worth is estimated to be around $5 million, a far cry from Kim's new billionaire status.

The 40-year-old star is in the middle of divorce proceedings from Kanye West, with whom she shares four children. Van divorced his wife of 14 years in 2019, and also has two kids.
